Job Description
This is a contract position providing continuity and effective management of all skills and development programs for Hockey Brandon Inc. Report directly to the President and VP of League Operations.
Position Pre-requisites include:
- Extensive hockey knowledge.
- Played or coached at a high level, ie U18AAA, MJHL, WHL or University/College.
- Recognized as a Hockey Canada Skills Coach or equivalent is an asset.
- The ability to work effectively and independently with flexible time management.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Skills & Development Coordinator is responsible for:
- Liaison with VP Player Recruiting and Development and the Hockey Brandon Office Manager.
- Creating and managing all on-ice skills development plans for Breakfast Clubs, Rep Team Tryouts, Prep Skates and House-League evaluation skates.
Specific Duties:
The Skills & Development Coordinator shall also:
- Be the lead on-ice coordinator for all Hockey Brandon Rep team tryouts, House-League evaluation skates and all Hockey Brandon Prep skates.
- Respond to all correspondence, emails and telephone messages in a timely manner
Specific Tools:
- All on-ice equipment
- Computer and internet access
Compensation:
Primary months September to March. Compensation package to be negotiated, with the applicant providing a proposed fee amount to Hockey Brandon based on the following hours for each program/session:
Yearly programs – mid October to late February
- Breakfast Clubs:
- U7 Breakfast Club – 15 one-hour sessions (approximately 15-20 participants)
- U9/U11 Breakfast Club: 15 one-hour sessions (approx. 15-20 participants)
- U13/U15 Breakfast Club - 15 one-hour sessions (approx. 15-20 participants)
- Grassroots Goalie Program – 10 one-hour sessions (approx. 10 participants)
- Elite Goalie Program - 10 one-hour sessions (approximately 10 participants)
September to mid-October requirements
- Prep Skates U9 to U15 age groups, approximately 80 hours
- Rep team tryout skates approximately 64 hours
- House-League Evaluation Skates approximately 40 hours
The term of this position will be for a five-year period with a 30-day opt out period required by either party.
Deadline to submit proposals/tender will be 5:00, Friday, May 15, 2026.
