2026 Award Nominations

Hockey Brandon Recognition Awards 
 
Is there a coach, manager, volunteer or player that stands out in your mind this season? 
Well, now is your chance to nominate them for a HOCKEY BRANDON award. 
The following is a list of available awards with a brief description:
COACH:
Arnold Nichol Memorial Award - to the most dedicated coach in the Timbits/U7 program. 
 
Don Robertson Memorial Trophy - presented to the most dedicated coach within House League.
 
Precision Toyota Coach of the Year - presented to the Rep team coach of the year.  A coach who best exemplifies good qualities as a coach.
 
SAFETY:
Bob Gillies Memorial Award - to an individual who provides excellent support to a team in a non-coaching role.  Someone who is always there to carry pucks, water bottles, jerseys, etc.  Someone who is positive, supportive and someone who has spent a long time in this type of role. 
 
PLAYER:
Tory Campbell Memorial Award - to the hardest working player within House League.

Tournament of Champions player of the year award - to a long-standing Hockey Brandon member who is a graduating U15 AAA player.  Who exhibits strength of character both on and off the ice while displaying outstanding skills in all phases of the game. 
 
GOALIE AWARD:
We are honoured to partner with the family and friends of Scott “Scooter” Preston to present the Scott “Scooter” Preston Memorial Goalie Award.  This award will be presented to goalies, that will include one from a rep team and a house-league goalie.  To be handed out annually to the goalie who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, dedication, teamwork and provides a positive impact on and off the ice. 

 
MANAGER:
Executive Award - Team Manager of the year
 
Wayne Robertson Memorial Award – Rep team manager of the year
 

Dean Jago Memorial Award:  To be awarded to an exceptional volunteer who puts their time in to our Association.  This person would also be an active member of the community.  Will step in and help at any level or capacity.  Have a positive attitude, be trustworthy and willingness to give a helping hand, and be professional in their role.  And is also known to have a joke or a funny story in their back pocket!
***DUE TO THE TIME NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE DEAN JAGO MEMORIAL AWARD, NOMINATIONS MUST BE IN BY THURSDAY MARCH 4, 2026***
 
Ryker Ethelston Memorial Award:  To be awarded to a U13AA player of the Year, who shows leadership, sportsmanship and is a good teammate.


FEMALE HOCKEY:      
Barb LeBlanc Memorial Award - to the female player of the year who shows outstanding dedication, commitment, and sportsmanship during the season on & off the ice. 
 
Leech Printing Award – to an individual (coach, manager, parent etc.) who has demonstrated commitment, dedication & sportsmanship in Female Hockey. 
 
Ashley Neufeld Source for Sports Ultimate Teammate Award – to a female player registered within Hockey Brandon who exhibits many if not all the following traits/practices - dedication, perseverance, respect, inspirational, positive attitude, coachable and possess strong work ethic/ability. Player must be nominated by a current teammate, coach, or Hockey Brandon board member.   

The annual awards will be presented at the Hockey Brandon
Coaches Banquet & Awards Night at the Victoria Inn – Tuesday April 7, 2026
All nominees will be invited to the Awards Night.
